Hi, hiker! My name is Emma Harris, the creator and author here at Trailheads and Trail Mix. I’ve been spending my time on trails for as long as I can remember, but it hasn’t been until recently that I’ve started using outdoor spaces are therapeutic escapes.
I’m an outdoor educator and camp professional of 9 years currently living in Darwell, Alberta. When I’m not teaching youth in the outdoors, I’m usually out on the trail in the Northern Rockies and Central Plains of Alberta, though I do often find myself travelling further to hit a good trail. I’ve experienced first-hand how a connection to nature can have a positive impact on a person’s life, both through my work and my own adventures. Spending time outdoors helps me connect to myself and my surroundings, and allows me to self-reflect and rediscover who I truly am when I feel lost.
